Kalidou Koulibaly, a Senegalese international who recently completed a £20 million transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, has taken a shot at Chelsea.
After joining the Blues from Napoli last summer, the 32-year-old defender only appeared for the team for one season.
The former Napoli star struggled mightily in the Premier League, as evidenced by his meager 23 appearances.
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champion admitted it wasn’t a good time at Stamford Bridge in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.
“I had no guarantees to get regular playing time [at Chelsea]. I was always professional, but I don’t like to sit on the bench doing nothing.
“I prefer a place where I am wanted and at the centre of the project and can be an example for young players.”
