Rihanna is exiting her role as CEO of lingerie brand Savage X Fenty After 5 Years

The singer and entrepreneur has held the role since she launched the company in May 2018.

The expectant mom, who also shares a 1-year-old son, RZA Athelston Mayers, with partner A$AP Rocky, has stepped down from her role at Savage X Fenty and appointed a new CEO.

Savage X Fenty has been a trailblazer in size-inclusive fashion. The line doesn’t just offer a wide range of plus sizes, it also uses plus-sized models in its flashy fashion shows.

Rihanna has been looking to expand Savage X Fenty beyond e-commerce and in bringing in Super has leadership with brick and mortar retail experience.

Speaking on the change (which comes into effect on June 26), Rihanna said in a statement:

“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years.”

“This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer.”

“I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO — she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”

The singer will remain with the lingerie brand in the role of executive chairman.

Hillary Super comes to Savage X Fenty after a tenure as CEO at Anthropologie Group and time spent in leadership positions at Guess, American Eagle, Gap and Old Navy.

Hillary Super, who has also served in leadership roles at Guess and GAP, added:

“I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family. The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”

Moving forward, Savage X Fenty, which primarily operates online, hopes to expand its brick-and-mortar presence after launching seven physical stores in the U.S. in major cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Houston.

Savage X Fenty said in a statement, per Vogue Business, “We have a highly engaged customer base with our [direct-to-consumer] model, and also recognise that there is opportunity for us to expand further by meeting customers where they are and offering other avenues of accessibility.”

Recall that Rihana is heavily pregnant whether this decision is based on her needing the necessary rest, we hope to know in the nearest of times.
