Simi Kosoko, an award-winning Nigerian musician, has described her recent encounter at one of Lagos’ passport offices.
In an Instagram video, Adekunle Gold’s wife described how she was almost denied access into a passport office because of how she looked.
Simi said that she was instructed to return home and change her clothes before being allowed inside. Even her celebrity status couldn’t save her because the officials are still concerned about her attire.
Simi also mentioned that she had to remove her nosering and earring.
She said, “I went to the passport office to get my passport done and when I reached the gate, they said I should go back because I am indecently dressed.“
I look myself up to down, and asked, can you see anything in my body that is indecent? He said he cannot see, but I should go back and wear something more ‘down’.” she wrote.
