David Hundeyin, a well-known Nigerian investigative journalist, has been detained at Zimbabwe’s Harare Airport.
On Wednesday night, the controversial journalist confirmed this via his verified Twitter handle.
He said that he was held because he entered the country without a visa.
According to him, his nationality remains Nigerian while “using the travel document of a country with a visa-free relationship.”
Hundeyin said his “return flight to Addis has been rescheduled for tonight,” adding that he is “ready to hop on my flight and never come back to Zimbabwe for the rest of my life.”
In an update shared under his initial thread, the fugitive said he has “been allowed to use the loo for the first time in 10 hours, and I’ve been assured that I will be allowed to catch my exit flight.”
