David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, a Nigerian award-winning artist, has spoken out about the need of humility after deleting the contentious music video of his signee, Logos Olori, from his social media channels.
According to Genius Media Nigeria, Davido shared the song video on his Twitter profile on Friday morning to promote his music artiste.
The video, which this publication saw, showed several people clad in white worshipping the way Muslims do before breaking into dance as they chanted Quranic verses and prayed.
Davido’s signee, on his part, copied the Muslim style of praying while sitting on the roof of the building in the music video.
However, the video generated controversy online, as some netizens who are Muslims accused Davido of disrespecting Islamic beliefs and practices.
Some Nigerian Muslims, especially in the North, found the video offensive and asked the music star to delete the video and apologise for his action.
Following days of criticism online, a check on the Twitter page of the DMW boss shows that he has finally deleted the video as requested by some Muslims but failed to tender an apology for his action.
In a new post on Twitter, the ‘Unavailable’ crooner shared a message on the importance of humility, stressing that it opens doors.
He tweeted: “Humility opens doors.”
