David Adeleke, also known as Davido, a Nigerian award-winning artist, has unfollowed his logistical manager, Israel DMW, on Instagram after he (Israel) apologized to the Muslim community on his behalf.
According to Creebhills, Davido took to Twitter last Friday morning to publish a song video in an attempt to promote his music artist, Logos Olori.
The ‘Jaye Lo’ music video, which showed scenes of people praying and dancing in what appeared to be a mosque, was found upsetting by some Muslims, who viewed it as disrespectful to their religion.
Davido, however, has since deleted the video on his page after a series of backlash and appeals.
The singer has refused to comment further on the controversies trailing the 45 seconds video clip.
Subsequently, Isreal DMW took to his Instagram page to apologize to Muslims on behalf of Davido, saying that the music was purely for entertainment.
While Davido has kept mum over the issue, Isreal DMW, in the now-deleted post via his verified Instagram stories, wrote: “Let me especially apologise to my Muslim brothers and sisters, on the video my oga posted, as a result of him wanting to lift up somebody, which is one of his hubbies. It was purely an entertainment effort wrongly presented. Make una no vex. Love you all.”(sic)
Despite how some netizens commended Isreal DMW for his action in looking out for Davido, this publication checked their Instagram pages and it showed that the singer has unfollowed his aide.
Isreal, on the other hand, is still following Davido on the video and photo-sharing App.
