Sensational Nigerian female singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has shared details of her phone call with American rapper Nicki Minaj.
The 20-year-old said she grew up listening to Nicki Minaj and that it “feels so surreal” to be on call with her now, many years later.
Ayra Starr appeared in the most recent issue of Teen Vogue.
She said Nicki Minaj made her confident, stressing that because of her, she could challenge her teachers.
“It just feels so surreal. I was on a call with Nicki Minaj…. She doesn’t understand how much I love her. I grew up listening to her. I was like, ‘You made me feel confident. Because of you, I could tell my teachers no!’” Ayra Starr said.
The ‘Rush’ crooner also declared that “Being signed to Mavin was definitely one of the best things to happen to me as an artiste.”
