Kim Kardashian’s clothing line “SKIMS” is now worth $4 billion

According to today’s New York Times, Kim Kardashian’s shapewear company Skims has raised $270 million, valuing the brand at $4 billion.

Compared to the $3.2 billion that investors put on Skims’ valuation just previous year, this staggering sum represents nearly $1 billion in growth.

The 42-year-old businesswoman Kardashian began her company in 2019, and only minutes after the website went live, the company made $2 million in sales.

The astute businesswoman started out making shapewear, but now she sells everything from skimpy swimsuits to cozy pajamas, and the demand for her brand, Skims, continues to rise.

Fans buy up Kardashian’s signature neutrals (and some fresh splashes of color, too) in bras, pants, socks, pajamas, and other styles from her celebrity business within minutes of each drop.

After an astounding $500 million in sales in 2018, the brand predicts it will reach $750 million in 2023, as reported by The New York Times.

Angelina Wiley, the lady in question, said a Skims bodysuit saved her life in a now-viral TikTok video.

Wiley was wearing one of the $68 bodysuits while she was shot four times in Kansas City, Missouri on New Year’s Eve, sharing that “it was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out.”

Meanwhile, the “Kardashians” star continues to roll out fresh styles, modeling a nude thong style in some new photos on the Skims Instagram account on Tuesday, writing, “Bodysuits for summer days just dropped and your wardrobe wants in.”

While Skims is expected to expand into menswear and launch physical stores, word is still out on whether body armor is next on the product list.
