Forgery: Innoson withdraws N3m scholarship awarded to Mmesoma

Anambra student with best UTME score faked results — JAMB

The N3 million scholarship given to Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme, a student at the Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra state, has been determined by Innoson Vehicles.

After the candidate admitted to forging documents, Innoson Vehicles withdrew the scholarship it had given her on Saturday.

She allegedly faked her own Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) score, according to the Anambra commission of investigation.

Ejikeme had been paraded as the winner of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The student claimed to have received a score of 362, however JAMB strongly disputed this, emphasising that she only received 249.

Mmesoma admitted manipulating her score, according to the panel’s report on Friday.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Cornel Osigwe, head of corporate communications, Innoson, said the company made the “difficult decision” to withdraw the scholarship “in response to the confirmed findings”.
