Amarachi Amusi, often known as Ashmusy, a comedian and social media star, has been shamed online for exaggerating the amount of petrol she purchased.
It is no secret that the country’s high fuel prices have impacted Nigerians and the prices of commodities offered in various markets.
Many people have complained about being unable to board a bus to their destinations due to the increase in fuel prices.
Ashmusy stated on Twitter that she purchased fuel for one million, two hundred thousand naira and that her car is only halfway full.
She tweeted, “I just bought fuel for 1.2 million naira and my fuel is still half tank. Somebody save me, Daddy please.”
Her obvious sarcasm was not well accepted by Nigerians, who dragged her for exaggerating the painful situation in the country.
Some mocked her claims, while others said it was insensitive to make such a joke at a crucial time.
