Senator Shehu Sani, a Kaduna-born human rights activist, socio-political critic, public commentator, politician, and former federal lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly’s upper chamber, has stated that, in the past, poverty was exclusively for the North, but that the government is now ensuring that poverty is distributed evenly so that no section of the country is left out.
Senator Shehu Sani said this on his official Twitter handle in response to the current economic sufferings being experienced by the Nigerian people as a result of the increase in petrol prices as a result of the current government’s elimination of subsidies.
According to Senator Sani, poverty, which used to be exclusively for the north, has been evenly spread to all section of the country.
“Poverty used to be exclusively for the North, now the Government is making sure there is even spread, and no section of the country is marginalised.” Said, Senator Shehu Sani.
