Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage as Simi, has said that, contrary to popular belief, she and Falz were never romantically involved.
The mother-of-one stated that she and the rapper had a business relationship and that it was the fans that propagated stories about them dating because of their chemistry.
Simi clarified during an interview segment of MTV Base Africa’s show, Official Naija Top 10, that their lovey-dovey scenes were all part of a ploy to offer people what they wanted.
She said; “He [Falz] did a verse on my song, ‘JAMB Question Remix’. And I was like, ‘Ah! Me and this guy, there is a vibe there.’ So, we did ‘Soldier’, and everybody was like, the chemistry is so amazing.
“We never saw that. People bought what we were not selling. And we were like, okay, this is a strategy. So, we did ‘Chemistry’ the album. People gave us the name and the idea. We never actually came and say, oh, we are dating.”
The ‘Duduke’ crooner and her husband, Adekunle Gold tied the knot in January 2019 after secretly dating for some time.
