President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that the proposed N8000 conditional cash transfer to Nigerians be reviewed immediately in order to mitigate the impact of the elimination of the petrol subsidy.
Dele Alake, special adviser on special duties, communications, and strategy, said in a statement on Tuesday night that Tinubu has also directed that the entire government’s palliative package be disclosed to Nigerians.
“That the N8,000 conditional cash transfer programme envisaged to bring succour to most vulnerable households be reviewed immediately. This is in deference to the views expressed by Nigerians against it,” the statement reads.
