Rivers State’s immediate former governor, Nyesom Wike, has stormed the National Assembly in protest of his ministerial screening. According to reports, Wike arrived at the National Assembly with his wife and a small group of supporters.
The Senate is slated to assess President Bola Tinubu’s first set of ministry nominees. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain was among the first ministerial nominees Tinubu sent to the Senate.
During the 2023 February presidential election, Wike sided with Tinubu against the PDP’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar. Wike’s nomination is widely regarded as retaliation for his support for Tinubu.
