The Labour Party’s leadership crisis took a fresh turn when the Court of Appeal in Owerri, Imo State, removed Julius Abure and recognized Lamido Apapa as the party’s National Chairman on Thursday.
This comes just ten days after the Court of Appeal in Benin City, Edo State, confirmed Julius Abure as the Labour Party’s National Chairman.
The court also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission to promptly recognize and publish the names of all governorship candidates in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states supplied by the Apapa-led National Working Committee.
The court also ruled against Senator Athan Achonu of Imo state and others from the Abure-led LP faction running for governor.
