I’m disappointed in Tinubu, I thought he knew Economics but he is simply a Bookkeeper – Adetokunbo Pearse

Adetokunbo Pearse, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Presidential Campaign Council, told Sahara Reporters that President Bola Tinubu is nothing more than a bookkeeper and that his economic policies, particularly the withdrawal of gasoline subsidies, are a disaster.

According to Pearse, who appeared on a Channels TV show on Monday, Nigerians demand to know the true landing cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as fuel.

He believes that instead of wrecking the economy by eliminating all subsidies, President Tinubu should have thoroughly investigated Mele Kyari, Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

“The topic of oil prices is what we’re talking about.” How can the oil price be reduced to one that is reasonable without wrecking the economy? The issue is that.

How do we approach it? Visit NNPCL, Mr. President, and see what’s happening there.

“There is only one way to address an issue, and our economy’s problem is that the cost of gas at the pump is too high.

How then may oil prices be brought down to a manageable level? What do you intend to do? Investigate NNPCL for inefficiency, waste, and corruption; if you get rid of them, we won’t have this issue.

The president does not have all the answers since democracy is a work in progress. To be quite honest, Tinubu has really let me down. I thought he was familiar with economics.

I now understand that he is only a bookkeeper. Even though a bookkeeper is an accountant who collects and counts money, building a company and an economy calls for having a business mentality.

“Employers,” or “someone who has previously run the industry,” Employees are aware of the give-and-take in the workplace. President Tinubu is ignorant, and he won’t take advise because what’s occurring right now is tragic.
