Reverend Father Oluoma Chinenye John, a well-known Nigerian Catholic Priest serving in the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, talked about why you should pay tithe and where you should pay tithe in a video uploaded on his Facebook page on Monday, August 14, 2023.
During the speech, he stressed firmly that tithing is not used to tempt God to bless you but rather to ensure that there is food in the house of God to feed the Prophet and the less fortunate.
In the video, Fr. Oluoma Chinenye said: “The reason God is asking you for tithe is because there are problems tithe solves in the church. Malachi chapter 3 says bring your tithe to the temple so that there will be food in my house. Food for who? Food for the prophet and the poor. That’s why God is asking you to bring tithe.
“Tithe is not to provoke God to bless you. Why do you even want to provoke God? Where did you read in the Bible where God was provoked and started to bless? Tithe is to solve a problem in the temple”.
