Residents in the Oba Akran area of Ikeja, Lagos, are in a state of panic after a helicopter crashed into a building.
The chopper, the details of which were unknown at the time, was alleged to have detonated as soon as it landed on the building close to the AP filling station and the United Bank for Africa (UBA) on the commercial boulevard.
According to sources, the incident occurred at 3:30pm, causing pandemonium in the region.
According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), four people were rescued from the area, including two white and two black men.
NEMA’s Lagos Territorial Office Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, verified the incident and stated that rescue operations were still underway.
He said details were still sketchy, adding that information would be provided as soon as they were available.
