Following his first victory at the club on Saturday, Lionel Messi, the captain of Inter Miami, accomplished a great milestone by surpassing all other football players in history in terms of titles won.
Messi guided Inter Miami to a stunning penalty shootout triumph against Nashville in the Leagues Cup championship. He broke the scoreless tie in the first half with a spectacular long-range shot.
The game finished in a 1-1 tie despite Fafa Picault’s close-range goal for Nashville tying the score in the second half.
Nevertheless, after a dramatic penalty shootout, Inter Miami prevailed with a score of 10-9 to win the Leagues Cup.
By spearheading Inter Miami to victory, Messi got his hands on the 44th trophy of his illustrious career so far and the first of his Inter Miami stint – making him the most decorated footballer of all time.
