Why Wolves were not awarded penalty for Onana’s foul – Premier League

The Premier League has stated the reason why Wolves did not get a late penalty against Manchester United on Monday night.

With the scores still 1-0 in the closing stages, United goalkeeper Andre Onana jumped to get a cross, but instead collided with two Wolves players.

There was a brief VAR check, before referee Simon Hooper was asked to continue with play.

The Premier League has now insisted it was not “a clear and obvious error”.

According to the BBC, “The Premier League has just told us that it was checked and cleared by VAR.

“It was not deemed a clear and obvious error so they stuck with the on-field decision.”
