Lauretta Onochie, the former head of the Niger Delta Development Commission, has finally spoken out about being stranded and forced out of her flat in the United Kingdom.

A child’s voice could be heard telling the former NDDC chairman to leave the flat in viral claims that circulated on social media and mainstream media on Saturday, September 2.

However, reacting, on Sunday, Onochie who was the staunch supporter of the immediate past President of Nigeria stated that the report it was not true.

Explaining what truly transpired in the viral video, she stated that her cousin whom she house had wanted to take her home at the time, but that she resisted it after a prolong argument with him.


In the report published by Daily Post, she stated she had to battle her cousin and his wife who were stranded and homeless at the time. She revealed that this incident happened a year ago.

Onochie stated, “My Cousin, Victor Ashiedu Fejokwu and his wife, Ruth Emereze were stranded, infact homeless at the time. I took pity on them, took them in, to house them in my home. A year ago, when I started making plans to return to continue housing them, they blocked my phone number. I had no access to my letters. Consequently, I missed quite a number of appointments.


She added, “Having the key to the property, I turned up at the door, twice. They installed bolts and bolted the door from the inside and refused to let me in. They stopped contributing to the rent when they both have jobs, preferring to host lavish parties.”

She further explained that her cousin with his wife locked all doors to the apartment from inside and refuse to allow her in, and stopped contributing to the house rent immediately they got jobs, but instead preferred to spend their money on hosting extravagant parties.


According to her, her cousin’s wife later forgot to lock the garden’s door one day, and that that was how she gained entrance into the house.

She finally stated they the incident degeneratd to a level where she had to involve the UK police, who later evicted from the house.
