Debris found in search for F-35 jet – authorities

According to US military officials, debris has been discovered during the search for an F-35 fighter airplane that went missing after the pilot ejected over South Carolina.

Authorities claimed the wreckage of the $100 million (£80 million) plane, which went missing on Sunday afternoon, was recovered in rural Williamsburg County.

The pilot bailed from the cockpit and parachuted to safety in a neighborhood near North Charleston.

The general public had been requested to assist in the search for the jet.
