Kgomotso Christopher is a South African actress. She first appeared on Isidingo’s Katlego Sibeko before appearing on Scandal as Yvonne “YV” Langa. She also provides the voice for MTN’s Interactive Voice Response system. She chairs the Naledi Theatre Awards Board of Directors on a non-executive basis.

She has also been featured in various South African movies and TV shows, such as Rockville, Intersexions, and Soul City. Christopher is also an ambassador for the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG).

Kgomotso Christopher (born March 25, 1979), in South Africa. Christopher Kgomotso comes from a well-known family. She also has a sister, although her parents’ names are unknown. On her Instagram, Kgomotso Christopher posted a photo of herself with her mother and sister.


Kgomotso earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Politics at the University of Cape Town. When she graduated, she received the Jules Kramer Award for Fine Arts. She graduated from Columbia University in New York City with a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts in 2004. Until 2008, she stayed in the US and the UK to live and work.


On the television shows Madam & Eve, SOS, Backstage, and Moferefere Lenyalong, Kgomotso made guest appearances. She has participated in stage performances of Dr. Faustus, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, and Romeo & Juliet. 

She had sufficient stage experience, which helped her get several jobs at Braamfontein as an acting trainee. She was given a job working behind the scenes for media and entertainment organizations when she was living in the USA. She worked for International, Freemantle Media, 20th Century Fox, and Channel 4.

She received parts in various theatre productions in South Africa, including Dr. Faustus, Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, and Midsummer Night’s Dream. She accepted supporting roles in plays and television shows. 

She appeared in Moferefere Lenyalong, a sitcom on SABC2. She has acted in several films, including Boesman, Lena, and Stray Bullet. Some firms that hired her for their TV advertisements include Vodacom, DStv, and CAN. She has worked as a voice-over artist for MTN as well.

Kgomotso claimed that she was the voice of MTN’s interactive voice response system on Instagram on November 15, 2018.

Kgomotso is married to Calvin Christopher. She told Zalebs she met her husband, Calvin Christopher, during her first year at the University. 

“I met him in varsity, first year, first week, fresher’s bash. He was an exchange student from Princeton University in the States at the time…met there, and how many years later? I’m not even counting.”

The couple tied the knot in 2004.

Kgomotso started discussing nudity and intimate scenes on our screens thanks to Christopher, who stars in the Netflix original film Fatal Seduction.

She expressed interest in being on a platform that allowed them to explore after the watershed at 8 p.m. to TshisaLIVE. 

Even though it may appear like more shows are focusing on these sequences, the actress explained that much preparation goes into them, and they are planned dances between actors, assisted by an intimacy coach. 

“It becomes easy (the scenes) when you have the resources of intimacy coaches who choreographed all those stunts you have seen. It’s not us, we don’t know what we are doing. I always say credit to our intimacy coaches. We would have to spend hours and hours before shooting a scene just to prep, and it’s pretty much like a dance choreography, how to do this and that and then we have to practice it and then we go into the aspect of what do you feel comfortable wearing.”
