Real Madrid head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, was recently honored with an honorary degree from the University of Parma in Italy.
According to reports, Ancelotti was awarded the title of Doctor of Science by the University of Parma, as proposed by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and approved by the Academic Senate of the University of Emilia.
The Minister of Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, also supported this decision.
Ancelotti’s honorary degree is not only a recognition of his success in football but also acknowledges his exceptional human qualities.
The ceremony, attended by renowned figures such as Arrigo Sacchi and Ariadne Braida, took place on Wednesday.
During the ceremony, Ancelotti delivered a speech titled ‘Football, a way of life.’
The audience warmly applauded him, and Ancelotti expressed his gratitude to his family and friends.
This distinction means that Ancelotti’s Real Madrid players might now have to refer to him as “Doctor Ancelotti” instead of “boss.”
The former Premier League winner with Chelsea said: “Sport has been a great school of life for me.
“Some will say that I have taken few tests; in reality I have taken many and every three days I take more.
“I will say to my players ‘you can call me doctor’. The strength of football is not in the individual, it is in the group.
“It is not the work, it is more the passion, which has allowed me to dedicate myself to football for 44 years and which you can’t buy on the market.
