Nigerian singer Dammy Krane recently discussed the departures of his former signees, Mr Eazi and Idowest, from his record label.
Sharing his perspective on their career paths, Dammy Krane emphasized that he never bullied them for their choices.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), he acknowledged the success both artists achieved under his guidance before leaving.
He mentioned that Idowest joined forces with Davido after gaining recognition during his time with Dammy Krane’s label.
Likewise, Mr Eazi moved on to the Starboy record label during a song theft controversy involving Dammy Krane and Wizkid.
However, Dammy Krane clarified that he always aimed to support and empower them as independent artists, and never engaged in bullying or negative behavior towards them.
In Dammy Krane’s words;
“Mr Eazi & Idowest both left my Record label when they blew up, Mr Eazi went to Starboy when me & Wiz had the whole song theft issue while Idowest went to Davido, that one no mean say make I start to drag them or bully them cos the motive was to help them become a Man of their own.”
“Ps: When you wanna help someone , Never do it for a payback , do your best & leave it to God ( the blessing is limitless,” he added.
Dammy Krane’s comments come amid ongoing discussions within the Nigerian music industry about the relationships between artists and their former record label bosses.
