BBNaija All Stars winner, Ilebaye, has responded to criticism from internet users regarding her recent tweet.
Ilebaye had taken to her X handle to share her bank account details for fans who wanted to make donations.
She had raised concerns about a scam that was trending, warning her fans that some dishonest people were collecting money in her name.
To prevent her fans from falling victim to the scam, Ilebaye posted her account number on her official handle, asking her supporters to send their donations there instead.
However, some netizens misunderstood her tweet and accused her of trying to gather more money from her fans, despite already winning N120M in the competition.
In response to the misconceptions, Ilebaye clarified in a new tweet that her previous post was simply aimed at stopping fraudulent activities by certain individuals. She reassured her followers that she never intended to ask for funds.
In her words:
“This tweet was solely to avoid people who WANT to gift falling into the hands of scammers.
We didn’t solicit for funds, we only highlighted the account we have access to.
Too many fake account numbers are circulating and we will not be held accountable for any misappropriation.”
