On behalf of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw responded to Stella Maris, the wife of legendary actor John Okafor aka Mr Ibu, regarding her misleading comments against the association.
Stella Maris alleged in a video published by social media critic VeryDarkMan that the Guild’s statement was merely issued to save their faces and was absolutely false.
She said that she had received no support from the union prior to her husband’s health crisis, and that all attempts to contact the Actors Guild were futile.
“I am not happy at all. AGN came to be talking about what they did not do. Why would they come out to say they’ve been supporting my husband from the start when they did not do anything? I called Emeka Rollers, he didn’t answer; I texted, he read the message and did not reply”, she said.
In response, Kate Henshaw called her out for lying, claiming that the Guild has supported the actor since 2021.
She recognized Stella Maris’s desperation, which is why she made the assertion; however, her claim that the Guild hasn’t been beneficial to her husband is false.
“Good morning, my attention has been drawn to a video that was circulated on social media last night by Mr Ibu’s wife.”
Let me emphasize unequivocally that this is the last statement I will make on the subject.
The shambles is that someone is unwell, requesting assistance, and all attention is on him to recover.
As of 2022/2021, when issues arose concerning his health, I wasn’t the public relations officer for the Actors Guild. My ejection into this post was this year.
Let me state categorically and vehemently that AGN has been of help to Mr Ibu.
I do understand that she is at her wit’s end, anybody would be, but to say AGN lied isn’t true”.
