Senator Ishaku Abbo, who represents the Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has been sacked by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
In this ruling, the court declared the election of Abbo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be invalid.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Amos Yohanna, won the poll after it was declared invalid by the court, the APC senator told reporters.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Senator Abbo had gained reelection in the National Assembly election held on February 25, 2023, while Yohanna had finished in second place.
Senator Ishaku Abbo reportedly won the election with 71, 927 votes, while Amos finished in a distant second with 61,895 votes.
