Early Life
Ali Germaine Landry was (born on July 21, 1973), in Cecilia, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Renella and Gene and was named after actress Ali MacGraw. Landry’s mother decided to take the name of her daughter after watching McGraw’s 1990s film, “Love Story.” Ali has French Cajun ancestry.
In terms of education, she attended Cecilia High School, graduating in 1991. While studying in high school, she developed an interest in Cheerleading and became a team captain. Upon graduating, she went to the University of Southwestern Louisiana to earn a degree in mass communication.
Career
Landry’s career began in beauty pageants, and she came to the spotlight after winning the title of Miss Louisiana Teen USA in 1990. In July of that year, the Miss Teen USA pageant was held at Biloxi, Mississippi, where she went to represent Louisiana and was ranked seventh overall.
Later, Landry earned the crown of Miss Louisiana USA 1996 and then Miss USA 1996, which earned her worldwide fame. Upon her success, she got a chance to compete in the 1996 Miss Universe pageant. Unfortunately, after the question round, she was eliminated from the contest.
After being crowned the Miss USA 1996, Landry tried her hand at acting. In 1997, she guest appeared in an episode titled “Sharing Cher” of the teen sitcom “Clueless.” She followed this up with her appearances in a TV series, “Conan the Adventurer.”
Landry also had roles in soap operas, including “Sunset Beach” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” From 19989 to 2000, she played Teri in the nine episodes of the American action drama series, “Pensacola: Wings of Gold.”
