English football referee Anthony Taylor is said to be returning to the Premier League after being temporarily moved to the Championship.
Taylor is known for being a contentious figure on the pitch and has years of experience in the top flight.
Despite being seen as being demoted to the lower league, reports now suggest that he will be officiating the high-profile game between Chelsea and Manchester City this weekend.
Taylor’s time in the Championship was not without controversy, as he awarded Preston North End a penalty during a match, a decision that was met with criticism from some fans who believed there was minimal contact.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, fresh off a 4-1 win against Tottenham that ended their London rivals’ unbeaten streak, will host Manchester City, who currently lead the Premier League table this coming weekend.
