Lovely comments have followed the humble beginnings of Nigerian skit creator turned actress Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, better known as Kiekie.
Kiekie posted a video on social media depicting the moment she began her career as a girl who had to beg for gigs. One mother observed that those who came after her were already flying high, yet her parents urged her to keep going.
She confessed that she clung to God as he held her in his arms, writing her eternal gratitude.
“GRATITUDE. FRIDAY. My friend @officialtaiwoadeyemi sent my a thought provoking message on Monday and I paused to take a look back and it’s nothing but unquantifiable testimonies..I remember the days people I started before were flying over me and I questioned a lot of things. But my parents will tell me then, “don’t be anxious, don’t be envious, your time will come”. In this moment I realized I had to continue pushing not like I had another option. I held on to God, He took me in arms and He hasn’t let go since then. And neither will I.FOREVER GRATEFUL. GOD is not done @lamboginny”
Fans and colleagues of Kiekie took to her comment section to celebrate her success story.
One Ms Yudee wrote, “You inspire me Kiks!! And not a lot of people do!I’m very very proud of you!Your work ethics, your personality and your stand up character even behind the cameras!! Rooting for you big!!”
Kiekie was moved to tears a few days ago after she had her daughter, Nola, duplicate her infant appearance.
This relocation was done in preparation for her daughter’s first birthday, which is coming up in a few days.
She tweeted a snapshot of her mini-me dressed in her one-year-old birthday outfit.
Kiekie, a proud mother, confessed that it made her emotional as she prepares for her daughter’s birthday.
