Shallipopi, a rising star in the Afro-Beat genre, recently expressed his surprise while in Germany, where he noticed that Mercedes-Benz cars are commonly used as taxis and boats.
Adding a touch of humor, Shallipopi highlighted the irony of Nigerians considering Benz cars a symbol of wealth and luxury, while in Germany they are seen as everyday vehicles.
In a video, he jovially laughed at Nigerians who flaunt their ownership of a Benz as a status symbol, when it is a common sight in the streets of Germany.
Interestingly, this is not the first time an artist has addressed this issue. Back in November 2022, Portable also commented on the same topic, criticizing Nigerians who go to great lengths to maintain their Benz cars, even covering them with trampolines to keep them looking brand new.
He also made light of the concept of showcasing cars that are frequently used as taxis in Germany.
Portable, who happened to be in Germany, took to his Instagram page to share a video showcasing Mercedes-Benz cars being utilized as taxis.
He continued to taunt Nigerians who frequently boast about their Benz cars, emphasizing the contrast in how these vehicles are viewed in different parts of the world.
