Aisha Yesufu, a socio-political activist, has issued a warning about a potentially more severe protest than the 2020 nationwide protest known as ‘End SARS’.
This movement aimed to address police brutality in Nigeria and gained momentum through social media.
The protest spread across major cities in Nigeria, resulting in violence and the unfortunate deaths of several young Nigerians.
As one of the prominent activists involved in the movement, Yesufu expressed concern that Nigerians may face unexpected consequences due to the prevailing anger fueled by the corrupt politicians and leaders who have unlawfully attained power.
“Nobody saw the #EndSARS protest coming. Nobody will see the next uprising coming,” she wrote on X.
“Sadly, it might end up being violent. There is a simmering anger fueled by the impunity and brazenness of the corrupt politicians and rulers who have rigged their way into power. Nobody will be spared.”
