Creebhills has confirmed that Ashanti is expecting her first child after rekindling her romance with Nelly earlier this year.
“Nelly and Ashanti are expecting their first child together,” a source tells Us exclusively. The baby will be Ashanti’s first kid, while Nelly, 49, has two children with ex Channetta Valentine: Chanelle, 29, and Cornell Haynes III, 24.
Ashanti, 43, ignited pregnancy rumors over the weekend when she and her partner attended Nelly’s Black and White Ball in St. Louis. During the occasion, while on stage with Nelly, the “Only U” singer placed her palm on her stomach, and he did the same. According to a TMZ fan video, the pair burst out laughing after implying that they are extending their brood.
Ashanti and Nelly dated on and off from 2003 to 2013 after meeting during a Grammy Awards press conference. In April, the duo sparked reconciliation rumors when they held hands at a boxing match in Las Vegas.
