“I am from Ewe in Oyo Kingdom in Nigeria” – Ghanaian singer Stonebwoy reveals

Stonebwoy Officially Joins Universal Music Group’s Def Jam Records Africa

Ghanaian Afro Pop and Dancehall musician Livingstone Etse Satekla, well known by his stage as Stonebwoy, has revealed that he is descended from Nigeria.
During a recent meeting with popular Nigerian influencer Ola of Lagos, Stonebwoy revealed that he is a Nigerian and that his clan, the Ewe, comes from Oyo Kingdom.

He claims he can trace his ancestry to Oyo Kingdom in Nigeria because his ancestor moved from that region of the country to Ghana.


He said:

“Me sef nah Niger, no lies. Me nah Ewe from Oyo Kingdom, my tribe migrated from Nigeria to Ghana here, na we get Illesha. Shout-out to my people in the southern part of Nigeria, check Ewe, we root straight to Yoruba”, Stonebwoy said
