BREAKING: President Tinubu fires Kabir Mohammed as FAAN CEO and reshuffles aviation sector leadership

Kabir Yusuf Mohammed, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has been fired by President Bola Tinubu. He has been replaced by Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku, who will now be the agency’s substantive Managing Director.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Wednesday by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale.

The president also fired Mr. Tayib Adetunji, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA). Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk will take his post.

In addition, the president approved the removal of Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Engr. Mr. Alex Badeh Jr. will replace Akinola Olateru as the substantive Director-General.  

Furthermore, President Bola Tinubu approves the commencement of a diligent process by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development to recruit a substantive Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers of the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU). 

The directive, according to the President, takes immediate effect.
