Nollywood star, Jaiye Kuti, has shared insights into the difficulties faced by women in their marriages and how divorce can become a consideration for many.

In a recent interview, the actress highlighted the impact of cultural differences on marital challenges.

Jaiye Kuti explained that couples often develop a deeper understanding of each other after marriage compared to the dating phase.

This, she emphasized, can pose significant challenges for women. Drawing from her personal experience, the actress revealed that she had attempted to leave her marriage on three occasions but found herself unable to do so.

The actress also noted that men tend to make the idea of divorce more accessible due to their egotistical desire to cheat on their partners.

In her words;

“If you ask hundred women, 85% wants to exit their marriage. I even tried to leave like thrice. The issue is when you marry someone from a different tradition and when a man wants to get married, he would treat and pamper a woman well but the second marriage and children are involved, everyone will start to show their true colours. Also, men can be egocentric in nature; and also can’t be stopped from cheating.”
