There are allegations circulating on social media concerning the release of Olanrewaju James, also known as Baba Ijesha, who was sentenced to 16 years for child defilement.
On July 14, 2022, he was convicted of several offenses, including indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault, following legal proceedings that began on April 22, 2021.
The trial took place at the Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja, presided over by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo.
The judge found him guilty on counts two to five but acquitted him on counts one and six, resulting in different prison terms for each count.
Recently, videos have appeared on social media suggesting that Baba Ijesha has been released.
In one of these videos, a woman, believed to be his sister, expresses gratitude to God and emphasizes that their family has not faced the expected shame, as many had believed that he would not be released.
