Ice Prince, the renowned Nigerian rapper and singer, recently spoke out about the breakup of the Choc Boiz crew and placed the blame on fellow artist Jesse Jagz.
The Choc Boiz crew, which included M.I, Brymo, Jesse Jagz, and Ice Prince, enjoyed a successful era in Nigerian music before Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince decided to leave Chocolate City and start their own record labels, Jesse Jagz Nation and Super Cool Cat, respectively.
In a recent interview with Echoo Room, Ice Prince was asked about the group’s split and specifically who he held accountable for it.
He did not hesitate to point the finger at Jesse Jagz, explaining that he believed Jesse Jagz could have done more to maintain the unity of the collective.
Ice Prince acknowledged that M.I often receives the blame for the breakup due to his role as the big brother figure, but he firmly stated that Jesse should have taken on the responsibility, stood up for the team, and admitted fault for the split.
He said, “The person that’s responsible for not putting this Choc Boiz Collective musically together is Jesse Jagz. I feel he needs to put more ginger for it to happen.ce
“Jesse you have to take one for the team, bro. A lot of times the blames always get pointed to M.I. because he is the big bro, he has to take the blame. But Jesse you have to take one for the team. It’s your fault my G. You need Jesse than he is available for the team right now.”
