Burna Boy has always been a performer, and he brought his best to the Grammys 2024 stage, where he gave the first-ever Afro-beats performance.

He was later joined on stage by singer Brandy and rapper 21 Savage, and they performed Burnaboy’s smash song ‘Sittin on Top of the World.’

Burna Boy’s performance has greatly impacted Nigerian and African music because it has spotlighted Afro-beats on a global stage while simultaneously making history.


Even though Burna Boy lost all four of his nominations at the Grammys 2024, his breakthrough as the first ever Afro-beat act to perform on the Grammys stage submerged his loss because it was a huge milestone.

It is also noteworthy that Burna Boy has a Grammy award hanging on his shelf for Global Music Album in 2021 for his album Twice as Tall. This made way for Burnaboy to make it to the Nigerian Grammy Award winners list after King Sunny Ade.

Burna Boy has continuously impacted the Nigerian music industry by projecting his songs onto the global stage.
