The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has begun its planned protests in Lagos.
The Nation spotted demonstrators in Lagos’ Ikeja district holding banners with diverse inscriptions.
At 7:00 a.m., protesters assembled outside the Ikeja under the bridge, holding placards and dressed in NLC regalia.
The police in Lagos had warned against blocking traffic and businesses during the protest.
While in Abuja this morning, NLC President Joe Ajaero is also leading a protest against poverty and hardship.
It’s been over six months since the Tinubu lead government was sworn into power, and the rate of poverty and hardship has escalated beyond measures; the cost of surviving in Nigeria is at its brink.
