Four people have died in a stampede that took place during an almsgiving zakat event for the poor in Bauchi State.
The incident occurred at 10am on Sunday at the Shafa Holdings Company plc headquarters along Jos Road.
A 17-year-old named Naima Abdullahi is currently receiving treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident and stated that the situation has been brought under control.
The police responded quickly upon hearing about the stampede, and the police commissioner has urged the public to remain calm.
