Juliana Olayode, a Nigerian actress known for her role as Toyosi in the popular show Jenifa’s Diary, recently shared why her mother prohibited her from posting about her on social media.
In a video posted on Instagram for Mothering Sunday, Juliana Olayode explained that her mother’s decision was influenced by a past incident where she posted a video of them at the cinema and people started recognizing them in public.
She said;
“Happy Sunday y’all and happy mother’s day to all the amazing mums out there, I should be posting my mum today but my mum has warned me not to post her on social media anymore so until she changes her mind I can’t.”
“My mum said: “hello Jully, don’t post me on social media anymore. The last time you put me on Facebook when we went to watch ‘Lion of Judah’ (A Tribe Called Judah), all our neighbours just keep staring at me”.
Despite facing criticism from a troll about her mother’s English proficiency, Juliana Olayode defended her, emphasizing that their family background was humble and not rich.
“My mum can’t speak English but I LOVE her to LIFE!!! And I am VERY PROUD of her. No matter what, love your parents, be proud of them and celebrate them always.”
