Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, an APC presidential aspirant for the 2023 election, has passed away.
The former Abia State governor died in Abuja on Thursday.
Details of his death are still unclear, but it is known that he had been struggling with an undisclosed illness.
Onu made headlines in 2022 during the APC primary election when he criticized the party for injustice towards the Southeast.
He was appointed Minister of Science and Technology by President Buhari in 2015, but resigned in 2022 to run for president, ultimately losing to President Tinubu.
