“I got duped of $70,000, so i stopped paying artiste for song remix” – KCee speaks on working with US band, One Republic (video)

Kingsley Okonkwo, also known as KCee, a popular Ojapiano and Afrobeats singer, recently revealed a shocking disclosure while participating on Isbae U’s YouTube series Curiosity made Me Ask.

KCee discussed his music career and how he has progressed and remained relevant in the industry while being at the top for nearly three decades.

He also discussed how the American band One Republic reached him and urged him to participate in a remix of their song, Ojapiano. During the chat, Isbae U asked KCee to confirm that he had not paid for the remix.

He maintained that he didn’t, and he was surprised that One Republic would contact him and ask to collaborate on the same song.

He stated that he handed the guy $70,000, which is equivalent to N92 million, but the remix never materialized. KCee claimed that since then, he had resolved never to pay anyone for a remix, even if he had the money.
