Blessing Okoye Nwakaego, a Nigerian woman, has been sentenced to three years in prison for defaming actress Eniola Badmus on social media.

Blessing Okoye had accused the actress of being a pimp who provides girls to politicians for money.

She admitted to making the defamatory video under the influence of her friend, Fortune Ibe, who remains at large.

Blessing Okoye confessed to agreeing to the video in exchange for N200k to pay her rent.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos handed down the ruling, convicting Okoye of cyberstalking.

Despite her guilty plea, Okoye was given the option to pay a fine of N150,000 instead of serving time in jail due to her display of remorse.
