Sheffield United will start the next season in the English Football League with a two-point deduction due to missed payments to other clubs.
The EFL announced this punishment on Thursday, citing incidents from the 2022/2023 season when the Blades were promoted from the Championship.
Additionally, Sheffield United will face a further two points suspended, which will be enforced if they fail to make a payment to another club.
The club has agreed to accept the sanction, confirming they will not appeal and will cover the EFL’s costs of 310,455 pounds.
