Nigerian singer Oritsefemi, also known as Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele, recently stated that he considers himself to be the godfather of his fellow artists Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido.
He mentioned that he was already successful in the music industry before they rose to fame, and even played a role in encouraging them to pursue music.
Speaking in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Oritsefemi said, “I had already made money [from the music industry] when some people were sleeping [yet to come into limelight].
“Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, so many of them [young artists], I encouraged them. I’m like their godfather.
“Even some female celebrities who are now trolling me on social media, I accommodated them in my mansion in Lekki back in the days. Even Burna Boy, I once accommodated him.”
