Kate Henshaw Causes A Stir As She Celebrates Her Birthday On Instagram

Kate Amaka Henshaw, a veteran Nollywood actress, has sparked outrage online in response to the government’s decision to reinstate the old national song.

It is no longer news that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the old anthem into law, rendering the new one useless.

The move of the lawmaking house prompted varied reactions among Nigerians, who questioned the move in light of the country’s suffering and current predicament.

Kate Henshaw criticized the government for considering the old hymn during a period of ‘excoriating hardship’ and a lack of decent governance in response to this development.

The actress criticized that the anthem was written during the country’s colonial era, claiming that they are attempting to instill patriotism in everyone.

On the X platform, Kate Henshaw sparked the debate with her X followers. She tweeted, “In the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug. The labours of our heroes past o to lo.”
