Nigerian musician Adekunle Gold believes that Timi Dakolo’s song “Great Nation” would have been a more fitting national anthem than the old anthem that the country has reverted back to.
After President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law to reinstate the old anthem, Adekunle Gold expressed his disappointment that Timi Dakolo’s powerful anthem was not chosen as the country’s new national anthem.
On his X handle, he wrote: “No one thought Timi Dakolo’s Great Nation makes a better anthem?”
His post sparked mind reactions.
